Tourist Attractions Miami (Florida) – Part 1

What could be a better start to series of articles on tourism than Miami (Florida) a hot vacation spot on the southeastern Atlantic coast of USA. I had the privilege to stay in this beautiful city for few months and so got to explore this place at leisure over the weekends. It is said that each place has something to offer for everyone but Miami has many things to offer right from pristine beaches with clear blue water and white sands,wild life excursion with zoo and aquariums, museums, malls for shopping, sightseeing cruises as well as a seaport for cruising around to places like Bahamas and a enthralling nightlife….

Some of major tourist attractions are

South Beach Miami– Nicknamed as “SoBe” this Miami beach  located in neighbourhood of city “Miami beach” between Biscayne bay and Atlantic Ocean is always mobbed by tourist. You can take a leisurely stroll on white sands or take a dip in clear blue waters of the ocean both in the morning and evening and also watch the cruise ships leaving from the seaport.

Ocean Drive -Next to South Beach this place is bustling with crowd this gives us a glimpse of rich night life on Miami. Take a stroll on Ocean Drive in night and have look at the Art Deco buildings or eat and drink at restaurant of your choice.

Vizcaya Museum & Garden -Trip to Miami is incomplete without a visit to this Itallian style Villa, winter residence of industrialist James Deering was built between 1914 and 1922 on the shores of Biscayne Bay.With the lush greenery this place will take you back to the time when Miami was choked with trees instead of traffic.The beautifully maintained 34-room mansion showcasing over 2,500 art objects and furnishings  is surrounded by acres of serene European-style gardens and waters of Biscayne Bay.                                                         Entry Fee- $18 for Adults (Discounted entry fees for Children,Students & Seniors)                 Hours -9:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Miami Sea Aquarium – Sea Aquarium is 38 acres of tropical paradise, featuring dolphins, killer whales and more.This place host the four fun-filled shows Top Deck Dolphin show,Flipper Dolphin show,Golden Dome Sea Lion and Killer Whale & Dolphin which are delight to watch and should not be missed (Each show is conducted twice daily) alongwith this you can also watch endangered species like Manatee or get experience of touching a Stingray or have an encounter with tropical Birds in “Tropical Wings” or have a look at Penguins in “Penguin Isle”.                                                                                                                           Hours-10 AM to 6 Pm                                                                                                                                       Entry Fees-Different programs available please refer to website for details.
